Nibi Lawson, founder of Kinky Apothecary, a beauty tech startup, is a finalist for the Clubhouse Creator First Program. Nibi's show, 'The History of Hair,' was chosen by Clubhouse HQ as a cut above the rest among over 5,000 applicants.

The Creator First Program is an accelerator designed to help aspiring creators host incredible conversations, build their audience, and generate revenue. Inspiration Space is partnering with Kinky Apothecary, with IS Founder Liana Fricker joining as co-host and creative producer.

In 'The History of Hair,' audience members engage with hair-related topics, interviews, and creative works, all set in an imaginary virtual hair salon.

Nibi, an alum of Inspiration Space's startup accelerator, New Beginnings, started Kinky Apothecary to provide suitable products for natural textured hair in Nigeria. The company's community kickstarted Nigeria’s Natural Hair Care revolution, and Nibi's ambition is to turn their retail platform into the world's ultimate beauty destination with inclusivity at its core.

When Liana pitched the 'History of Hair' idea, Nibi was intrigued and, after a couple of weeks of brainstorming, decided to apply for the program. With more than 5,000 ideas submitted, Nibi was shocked to be selected as a finalist.

Liana Fricker, Founder of Inspiration Space, saw the history of hair as an interesting lens to explore the cultural norms and behaviours associated with it. This idea presents an opportunity to exchange knowledge and stories of all things hair across cultural and textured boundaries.

Collaboration is at the heart of what they do at Inspiration Space, and Liana believes that this idea will be a "win-win" opportunity for Nibi's company and brand, especially as they work closely on the Kinky Apothecary growth strategy.
